Southold Free Library Celebrates National Poetry Month

By Southold | Uncategorized

“Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.”
― Leonardo da Vinci

April is the month of new growth and the library is celebrating with new poetry and art. Come visit and view artwork created by the students of the Southold Junior Senior High School, under the supervision of Art teacher Dan Gosnell. In addition, we will have poetry posted by Monica Rowsom’s 2nd graders from Southold Elementary School, in honor of April - National Poetry Month. Painting is poetry and poetry is painting.

And Don't Forget...

April 27 is POEM IN YOUR POCKET DAY! Celebrate by selecting a poem, carrying it with you and sharing with others throughout the day. To share on Twitter, use #pocketpoem. You can look at www.poetry.org for inspiration in finding a poem or come by. We have poems for you to share!
