April is National Poetry Month, one of the largest literary celebrations in schools and libraries honoring poetry’s vital place in our culture. During this time, educational centers across the country join together in the hopes of stimulating the reading of poetry year-round.
This year, the Southold Free Library will have an online Poetry Gallery featuring our local poets. If you’d like contribute a poem to the gallery, email that poem to me and Melissa Andruski at:
Submitted poems can be of any topic, style or length. Just make sure that your name is typed under the title of your poem!
The deadline for submission is: Friday, March 23. The online poetry gallery will open for the month of April, and can be viewed by logging onto: www.southoldlibrary.org.
On Saturday, April 21 from 2 – 4 p.m., there will be a poetry reading at the library for local poets who have submitted work to the gallery. If you’re interested in participating in that event, contact: Vivian Eyre at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for contributing your work to the Southold Free Library’s 2018 Online Poetry Gallery.
