Sonomi will tell us the legend of Kappa Maki and then show us how to make a traditional, Japanese cucumber sushi roll for a tasty treat! Look for our YouTube video link posted on our library webpage and Facebook page.
Full recipe and list of ingredients:
Kapa Maki (Cucumber Roll)
1 cup short grain rice (freshly cooked; it would be really nice if it is still hot or warm)
2 tablespoons of rice vinegar
1-2 tablespoons of light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
Nori (dried seaweed, flat form)
white sesame seeds
soy sauce (for dipping to eat)
*You can add Wasabi for those who are spicy lovers and pickled ginger if you would like to change the tone on your palette.
