POETRY AS INVERSION AND REVISION
MATTHEW DADDONA
Saturday, February 6, 11am-12:30pm Zoom
The poem submission deadline is extended to February 1

What makes a truly great poem? And how does one achieve writing one? Matthew Daddona, author of the highly praised poetry collection House of Sound, suggests that poetry is not as much about charged emotion as it is about awareness of its aim; and that revision, that age-old art of toiling on a poem, is key to understanding its potential. Matthew will walk writers of all skill levels through the process of revising their poems as well as talk through issues of editing and finding new ways to write poems. Walk away with a new poem and source material on revising and editing. It is recommended that registrants email Matthew a poem that they plan to work on in the workshop by February 1. matthewdaddona14@gmail.com. Open to serious writers 15 years and older; prior writing and publication experience is not necessary. To register, please email Melissa@southoldlibrary.org
