OLD BURYING GROUND VISITS
Fridays, July 24, 31, August 7, & 14, 11am
Meet at the Old Burying Ground’s Founders Monument
The oldest English Burying Ground in New York State dates back to the 1640’s. Slate, sandstone, and marble markers abound alongside several box tombs. French novelist, Honore de Balzac said, “While seeking out the dead, I see nothing but the living.” Southold’s heritage is alive in the cemetery. Please bring a mask to wear. We’ll remain 6 feet apart (above ground!) during the tour. Registration is not required. Inclement weather cancels.
